Patented snow guard design protects roofing material from damage

Patented snow guard design protects roofing material from damage

Our clamps are designed with a "push-pin" mechanism, versus a "set screw" system, therefore the AceClamp® does not penetrate the panel material.  Plus, they come fully-assembled, saving the contractor on installation time.

Most attachment specifications call for “non-penetrating fasteners,” so installers won’t penetrate and compromise roofs that the owner just spent thousands of dollars installing. As a result, many non-penetrating clamp designs will not puncture a roof’s surface. Most of these work well with new roof panels coated with the latest high-performance finishes.

A rejuvenated roof is a very different application. Once a new, energy-effective, reflective surface is applied, a roof is free from leaks and warranted to remain leak-free for five, ten or more years.  The surface is very different from a brand new roof, so you should be more selective when choosing the proper clamps for roofs with these coatings.

At AceClamp®, we're committed to getting you on and off the roof faster!

Roof clamp design and its impact on roofing material finishes

ACRYLIC BASE & TOPCOAT APPLIED ROOF SYSTEM

The below example shows how roofing panels are affected by three different installed seam clamp technologies. AceClamp, shown left, clearly has caused less impact on the panel's finish. (Push Pins)

FABRIC REINFORCED LIQUID APPLIED ROOF SYSTEM

The same roof panel shows the effects of the same installed seam clamps. On the side opposite the set screw, the bottom lip of the clamp actually cut through the reinforcing fabric, providing an obvious path for water to enter into the seam. Clamp damage is visible in the coatings and in the fully reinforced liquid-applied membranes. Compromising the membrane can create even more problems than damaging a coating since it has the potential to actually create leaks.
